Finding Your Way Through the Storm
We often hear the saying, “We’re all in the same boat.” I see it differently. While we may all face the same storm, our boats are unique. Some are sturdy vessels, some are small, and some may currently feel shipwrecked.
Wherever you find yourself in the weather of life, I provide a compassionate, safe space and a skilled intuition to help you find your bearings.
Why Counselling?
Rarely do we allow ourselves the time to truly focus on our own needs. Instead, we often:
-
Suppress difficult emotions until they spill over into our work and relationships.
-
Ignore the pain, preventing us from living authentically in the present.
-
Silence our inner voice to keep others comfortable.
But every emotion you carry is important. You deserve to be heard. When we accept ourselves even the parts we aren’t proud of we regain the power to make choices. We become the captain of our own vessel, capable of steering away from the jagged rocks and into clearer waters.
How We Work Together
Counselling is a potent force for change. I have witnessed how self-awareness nurtures growth, but I also know this: You alone have the capacity to plot your course. In our sessions, I don’t take the wheel; I take my place alongside you. My role is to:
-
Support and facilitate your journey as you face routes you may not have felt brave enough to travel alone.
-
Challenge your thoughts and beliefs creatively to open new perspectives.
-
Strengthen the resources you already possess, building a resilience that lasts long after our work together is done.
Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, bereavement, or simply feel “stuck,” you don’t have to weather the storm alone.
My role as a counsellor
“It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried.”
I see my Role as a counsellor as being in a privileged position to support you to identify obstacles that are blocking your path to happiness and positive way of being, together through the therapeutic relationship we will challenge these obstacles so that you can emerge and able to live your best life.
Want to know more about my services?
Face-To-Face: I offer one-to-one counselling in my own private counselling facility in St. Mary Hoo, Rochester. This may involve a traditional approach of talking and exploring, or I offer a more creative approach too which incorporates play therapy, use of materials, sand tray, and psychodrama. Whichever approach you choose, I will tailor each session to meet your needs.
Online Counselling: This has become increasingly popular, particularly during the pandemic. It can be a great way for people to access counselling without the need to travel. I am confident in my experience, that the online counselling that I facilitate does not compromise any aspect of the face-to-face approach. I tend to use remote video call platforms.
Walk and Talk: This offers an in-person approach for those clients who perhaps find the face-to-face aspect of counselling too invasive; or those who feel a connection with nature. I use the area of St. Mary Hoo, Rochester, which provides a quiet space to walk and talk against a rural and dynamic backdrop. Please note, you will need appropriate footwear for the country lanes that this route utilizes.
What does it cost?
Free initial in-person, on-line or telephone consultation.
£50 per session thereafter.
Concessions considered for low income, keyworkers students, and counselling students.
